New Delhi, 30 July 2022: In an exclusive conversation with the Ten News Network, Fencing Champion Sharwari Gosewade shared her experience of being felicitated by Nitin Gadkari, the Union Minister of Road Transport and Highways at the 1st Khelo India Women’s League and Ranking Tournament.

‘I am feeling very grateful and honored after getting awarded by such a great personality, She said. Urging the people to take interest in fencing, she added that it is a sword sport that is safe as it is played with protection but it is an unpopular game in India.

“I started playing Fencing in 5th standard, I practiced in Nagpur for 3 years and then I joined Khelo India where I was under the guidance of great coaches. It was the biggest comeback of mine as my game was a little bit disturbed in the lockdown,” said Sharwari.

Gosewade concluded by addressing her future expectations, “I want to go international and play in Olympics and win gold for India.”
