A 60-year-old woman’s foot came under a moving bus after she fell from it in central Delhi’s Daryaganj area. The police said the woman had been allegedly asked by the conductor allegedly get down from the bus even as the vehicle was moving.
The woman’s foot was badly injured in the accident on that occurred on Thursday. She was rushed to a hospital by the bus driver where doctors amputated her foot, the police said.
A case has been registered against the driver and conductor on the basis of the woman’s complaint. The matter is being probed, the police said.
The victim, a resident of Seelampur, after meeting a relative admitted at LNJP Hospital was waiting at Delhi Gate for a bus to return home, they said.
The police said the woman was allegedly irked after not finding a bus for Seelampur and boarded a low-floor bus.
However, the conductor reportedly told her the bus would not go to Seelampur, they said.
The woman, in her complaint, alleged that she was asked to get down from the moving bus and the conductor did not even ask the driver to stop the vehicle. While getting down from the bus, she fell and the rear wheel of the vehicle ran over her foot, the police has said.
