“Accidental Prime Minister’s director Vijay Gutte arrested, producer Sunil Bohra could be arrested soon”
Recently film Accidental Prime Minister’s producer Sunil Bohra’s company winding up case came in news recently whereby the Bombay High Court ordered that Sunil Bohra’s company be liquidated after Bohra’s cheques bounced multiple times to complainants. This was in wake of Ratnakar Gutte, the father of the upcoming high-profile film The Accidental Prime Minister’s director Vijay Gutte, being probed for cheating thousands of farmers by his company Gangakhed Sugar and Energy Private Limited. And now the film ‘s director Vijay Ratnakar Gutte and son of sugar baron Ratnakar Gutte, has been arrested by the Directorate General of Goods and Services Tax Intelligence (DGGSTI) in Mumbai for alleged Goods and Services Tax (GST) fraud of at least Rs 34 crore.
Vijay Gutte’s firm, VRG Digital Corp Pvt Ltd, has been accused of taking “fake invoices” involving GST of Rs 34 crore for animation and manpower services received from Horizon Outsource Solutions Pvt Ltd, a company that has come under the scanner of the government agency for GST fraud of over Rs 170 crore. The Accidental Prime Minister was launched with much fanfare with Anupam Kher essaying the role of former PM & Congress Manmohan Singh. Now the film’s director has been sent to judicial custody at Arthur Road jail till August 14 while his producer Sunil Bohra’s company Bohra Bros is on the verge of being liquidated, apart from facing multiple cheating & fraud cases against him across Delhi & Mumbai, including an FIR. Sunil Bohra known to be close to superstar Aamir Khan has been in the past too accused of cheating, especially during hit film Tanu Weds Manu, whereby the court had directed police to lodge FIR against him. In the wake of all recent developments, Sunil Bohra may soon be arrested. Wonder where does this leave the Accidental Prime Minister ?
