Indian First Ladies-Padma Sachdev- First modern woman poet of Dogri language

Padma Sachdev belongs to a family of Sanskrit scholars of Jammu. She began her literary career almost at the age of 16 and her first poem RajeDiyanMandiyan established her as one of the leading poets of Dogri. When she received the Sahitya Academy award in 1971, she was perhaps the youngest recipient of that honor. She received honors and awards from all around the world.

She was honored with INDIAN WOMEN ACHIEVERS AWARD by the President of India on January 20, 2018 at New Delhi.
