Nivedita Joshi is a multi-dimensional person with significant accomplishment in the field of Yoga. Stricken by slipped disc, cervical spondylosis and an early-stage scoliosis, she was virtually bedridden and immovable for eight long years. Initiation to Iyengar Yoga therapy led to relief and ultimate cure. Fired by her conviction to share this therapeutic yoga with the world, she set up the Iyengar Yoga Centre in Delhi in 2007. Nivedita has to her credit a first of its kind book on Yoga for the visually impaired in Braille. This book was released internationally during the first International Yoga day celebrations at the UNESCO headquarters in Paris, by the Director General of UNESCO. She has been teaching visually impaired students since 2014.
She was honored with INDIAN WOMEN ACHIEVERS AWARD by the President of India on January 20, 2018 at New Delhi.
