New Delhi, October 21: A war of words broke out between Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi and Minister of Textiles Smriti Irani on Twitter on Friday wherein, the latter attacked the former while claiming that the Congress will lose elections despite its efforts. Irani’s comment came after Rahul Gandhi took a dig at Prime Minister Narendra Modi for remaining silent on the alleged corruption case against BJP President Amit Shah’s son, Jay Shah.
Earlier, Gandhi had tweeted “Mitron, Na Shahzade ke baare me na kuchh bolunga, na kisi ko bolne dunga” [Friends, neither I will speak against the son of Amit Shah nor I will let anyone speak.
Replying to the tweet, Smriti Irani said, “A person out on bail mocks the courts. Lage raho Bhai Gujarat phir bhi haroge Saal Mubarak.” Irani was referring to the bail granted to Gandhi in National Herald Case. The verbal fight is likely to intensify after Rahul Gandhi launched scathing attacks on BJP ahead of assembly elections in Gujarat.
