Delhi High Court issues notice to the Arvind Kejriwal government on PIL for tobacco ban

The Delhi High Court has issued a notice to the Arvind Kejrival-led Delhi government on the PIL (Public interest litigation) demanding strict implementation on the ban imposed for chewing tobacco through multiple policies. This ban will also affect the sale and supply of tobacco in the state. A bench consisting of Chief Justice G Rohini and Justice Sangita Dhingra Sehgal entertained the plea. Earlier on February 9, the Delhi HC agreed on hearing the plea seeking the strict implementation of the ban on ‘gutka’ and other chewable tobacco products in the national capital.
