The Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT) has greatly appreciated the statement of MP Home Minister Narottam Mishra giving a strong and unequivocal warning to Amazon that either to cooperate with the investigation conducted by MP Police else they will be brought to MP by force. The statement of Mishra has generated hopes among the trading community across Country that this time this sensational issue will not be diluted since the statement has plug all the escape routes for Amazon. The CAIT further said that as per statement of Bhind SP Manoj Kumar Singh, the lawyers of Amazon who met him instead of giving contact details of India operations, gave a US e mail id for seeking answers of the questions raised by MP Police. It’s a mockery of the law and reflects the intention of Amazon to hush up the case and it’s scant respect to law of India. However, this time the traders of the Country will not budge come what May and if needed even shall move to the Court of law. The CAIT has demanded that concerned officials of Amazon should be arrested immediately
CAIT National President B C Bhartia & Secretary General Praveen Khandelwal said that at a video conference meeting held today with more than 100 senior trade leaders of all States & Union Territories , it was unanimously resolved that the issue of sale of marijuana on Amazon e commerce portal has strongly corroborated the charges which CAIT has levelled against Amazon since 2016. This kind of criminal act will not be tolerated by the people of India. Sale of marijuana on e commerce portal has open a flood gate for conducting several other anti- law & anti- nation activities which is much more serious. It was also resolved that any move by anyone to dilute this gracious issue will be strongly opposed by the trading community across the Country. The CAIT has declared to hold countrywide protest against such heinous crime of Amazon on 24th November by holding Dharna in more than 600 District headquarters all over India to demand arrest of Amazon officials.
Bhartia & Khandelwal further said that to take up the issue vigorously ,CAIT delegations will meet Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal, MP Chief Minister Shiv Raj Singh Chauhan & MP Home Minister Narottam Mishra very soon.
Bhartia & Khandelwal while appreciating the role and actions of Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) in case of Aryan Khan and on the similar pattern this case also falls under the same category rather much more serious and we expect NCB to take this issue with same zeal and enthusiasm and arrest the senior officials of Amazon so that evidences can’t be tampered and law must take its own course.
