Mumbai, Dec 13: 1993 Mumbai serial blasts fugitives, Dawood Ibrahim and his closest aide Chhota Shakeel have split and are living separately in Karachi, a report said. Pakistan’s secret service, ISI is trying to broker peace between the two as the split might hamper its anti-India activities.
The two gang-lords had been virtually inseparable for the past three decades– Shakeel was the closest confidante of the D-company boss. Dawood‘s trusted lieutenant, Shakeel had been the de-facto boss of the company as he oversaw the entire operation while Dawood just ordered him around. However, Intelligence Bureau sources have said that their long-time equation has changed after they engaged in an argument over Dawood’s brother Anees Ibrahim.
TOI reported that Chhota Shakeel and Dawood Ibrahim had an argument due to Anees Ibrahim’s interference in the gang’s operations. According to reports, Anees Ibrahim had been trying to get an upper hand over Chhota Shakeel for some time. Chhota Shakeel recently held a meeting with his supporters in east Asian countries.
