WhatsApp has over 1.2 billion users, and it is undoubtedly the most preferred messaging app. Despite its advantages, it has its own set of drawbacks. There have been plenty of hoaxes and spam messages spread on the platform. To add to the list, a new hoax suggests that users can buy the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 for just Rs 1,099 on Amazon India.
The message says that the offer is under the pre-GST sale on Amazon India. The 32GB Redmi Note 4 is claimed to be priced at Rs 1,099, while the 64GB is said to be priced at Rs 1,299. The message also comes with a link, clicking on which will take you to a site claiming to be an Amazon website hosting a gst-sale. On the website, users will be asked to fill personal details like phone number, full name, email id and address. Further, the site will also ask you to send a message to eight WhatsApp groups to confirm the order of the Redmi Note 4.
After sharing it with your friends and family, you will be provided with an order ID and UC News app will get downloaded in the background. On further following the process, the message later informs you that your order is successfully placed and you have to keep that news app installed for around a week and not uninstall it.
