New Delhi: Before going into the polls, the South Delhi Municipal Corporation (SDMC) has created an amusement park for the children as a parting gift to them. The amusement park developed at the Kamal Cinema Park in Safdarjung area will be officially opened for the public on Thursday. The SDMC has installed life-sized statues of superheroes, cartoon characters, and animals. Tree decking and rock climbing facilities has been created for children interested in adventure.

#Delhipolice plan new website for #women in distress

Delhi Police are set to start working on a new website for the Special Police Unit for Women and Children (SPUWAC) to help women in distress. Police sources said the new website will be more comprehensive than the previous one. The website would contain links detailing the rights, complaint handling procedures, laws and Acts related to women. The process to make the new website would begin soon, a source said. "A dedicated website – – already exists but we want to revamp it and add more features and links," said a police officer. "This (new) website will have more detailed features," the officer said.

Economic survey: Unemployment rose by 11%, 12 lakh people without jobs

Unemployment Rose sharply in the national capital, with the number of unemployed people going up by over 11 per cent between 2014 and 2015. According to the Delhi Economic Survey, 12 lakh people were without jobs in that year. Unemployment has been rising steadily over the years with the figures pegged at 9.13 lakh persons in 2013, 10.97 lakh persons in 2014 and 12.22 lakh persons in 2015. However, actual figures could be much more because the informal sector sees very few people registered in employment exchange offices.
