NEW DELHI : After falling by 10 paise everyday for three consecutive days, the price of petrol was left unchanged today. Diesel rates, too, are stable for the last two days. In New Delhi, a litre of petrol today costs ₹75.70 and diesel ₹69.06. In Mumbai, a litre of petrol comes at a price of ₹81.29 a litre and diesel ₹72.42 a litre.
If you are in Bengaluru, you will have to pay ₹78.23 for petrol and ₹71.36 for diesel. In Chennai, petrol costs ₹78.65 and diesel ₹72.98. Those in Hyderabad will have to pay ₹80.49 for petrol and ₹75.30 for diesel. In Gurgaon, you pay ₹ 75 for petrol and ₹ 67.89 for diesel.
So far this year, petrol price has gone up by 56 paise a litre and that of diesel by a higher amount of ₹ 1.1 per litre. Prices began to decline as tensions in the Middle East eased after both the US and Iran chose not to escalate conflict. Crude rates, which had crossed the $70 mark last week, are now back to where they were in mid-December.
Brent crude was down 21 cents, or 0.3%, at $64.28 per barrel by 0206 GMT. U.S. West Texas Intermediate crude futures were down 23 cents, or 0.4%, at $58.00 a barrel.
