Man Beaten up in Delhi For Speaking English; 3 People Arrested

New Delhi, September 12: A man in Delhi was allegedly beaten up by five men for speaking English while talking to his friend. The man, identified as Varun Gulati, is a resident of Noida. The police said that the 22-year-old man was on his way to drop his friend Aman to a five-star hotel in Connaught Place. The police said that they were reported about the incident in the early hours of Saturday.

According to news agency when Varun was returning to the hotel after meeting Daksh – whose car he had borrowed – five drunk men surrounded him and questioned as to why he was speaking in English. They got into an argument and the five men started thrashing Varun, said the police. The drunk men escaped the spot in a vehicle. However, Varun noted down the vehicle number and informed the police.
