Jeep Compass launching tomorrow in India: Prices expected to start from INR 18 lakh

Foraying into the world of premium compact SUVs, Jeep India tomorrow is going to launch the third product into it’s product line-up in India, the CompassSUV. To be manufactured locally at the Fiat Chrysler’s Ranjangaon plant near Pune, the Jeep Compass is speculated to be priced in-between the range of INR 18 lakh to INR 22 lakh. With over 80 percent localization, the Compass is going to be the cheapest product from the American automaker in our country after the rather steeply priced Grand Cherokee and the Wrangler unlimited. When launched, the Jeep Compass will primarily compete against the likes of the Hyundai Tucson and at a later stage with the Skoda Karoq (next-gen Yeti) upon the latter’s arrival. That said, the Compass will have an edge over the others as the same is going to arrive with 4WD drive variant as well.
