The ICFAI Law School will Be Organizing The 3 day ‘The ICON 2019’

The ICFAI Law School, Hyderabad is organizing the 3 day ‘The ICON 2019’ (The ICFAI Conference of Nations), a model United Nations program at its campus from January 25-27, 2019. The inaugural session was held on Friday, January 25, 2019. The conference would be attended by more than 150 students from different universities and colleges in India.

The Chief Guest for the occasion Prof. J Mahender Reddy, Vice Chancellor, ICFAI Foundation for Higher Education, Hyderabad, emphasized that the conference will help the student delegates hailing from different States and Cultural backgrounds to deal with various national and international problems faced by different countries and to come out with solutions theoretically. Referring to 218 page report of the United Nations, he gave tips on debating skills to the student delegates for discussions and deliberations on issues relating to the economic growth of the needy, and to find out ways and means for environmental sustainability in terms of production and consumption which is vital from the human rights point of view.

The Guest of Honour, Prof Y.R. Haragoapal Reddy, Advisor ICFAI Group and former Vice Chancellor, Nagarjuna University, referring to one of the sayings of Swami Vivekananda said that “Happiness lies in solving the problem” and further stated that student delegates as representatives of the different nations in this Conference have to learn how the proceedings are conducted in the Security Council and Parliament.

Prof. A.V.Narasimha Rao, Director ICFAI Law School, suggested the student delegates to imbibe the technique of being a nation and should represent himself or herself as a nation but not as an individual in their personal capacity.

This Conference simulates six specialized organs like UN Security Council, UN Human Rights Council, Continuous Crisis Committee, International Press, International Court of Justice and Lok Sabha.
