New Delhi, Mar 27: Ahead of the upcoming Municipal Commission of Delhi (MCD) elections, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLA Ved Prakash Satish resigned from the party and joined Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Monday. Addressing the media, the Bawana MLA stated that AAP failed in delivering its promises made during the 2015 assembly elections. Ved Prakash joined BJP in the BJP Delhi unit office, in the presence of Delhi BJP chief Manoj Tiwari.

Joining BJP, the MLA said that he is also resigning from the assembly and is going to submit his resignation letter to the Speaker. “I am going to give my resignation letter to the Assembly Speaker,” the Bawana MLA said. Attacking Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, Ved Prakash said that he was feeling suffocated in the party. He also claimed that there are around 35 AAP MLAs in Delhi who are dissatisfied with the party and are in talks with other political parties.

“I was feeling suffocated in the AAP. They (AAP) have failed to deliver on the promises which they had made during assembly elections. There are around 35 MLAs in the AAP who are not happy with the party leadership,” he said.
Commenting on Ved Prakash’s claim of many AAP MLAs being dissatisfied with the party, senior Congress leader Ajay Maken stated that many leaders have contacted Congress and wanted to join the party further adding that the party has decided to contest the upcoming election with the help of the party volunteers and local leaders.
