New Delhi, Oct 31: China has rubbished report which claimed that the country is planning to build a 1000km-long tunnel to divert water from the Brahmaputra rive close to Arunachal Pradesh to the parched Xinjiang region.
“This is untrue. This is a false report,” Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Hua Chunying said when asked about the reports about he project.
Hua Chunying added that China will continue to attach “great importance to cross-border river cooperation”.
World’s Longest Tunnel Project
A report in the Hong Kong-based South China Morning Post had on Monday claimed that Chinese engineers were testing techniques that could be used to build a 1000km-long tunnel from Tibet to Xinjiang.
