Lucknow, Oct 4: Launching a scathing attack against the Centre from his home constituency of Amethi, Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi said his party would revive the economic growth within six months if chosen to power.
The Gandhi scion blamed Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s “anti-people” economic policies which have led to the slowdown of GDP. He blamed demonetisation as the major factor behind the “fall of rural economy”.
The adverse impact of note ban is still being felt by the farmers, traders and small-scale businessman, Rahul claimed. “In addition, the hasty roll-out of GST (Goods and Services Tax) has further escalates the woes of common man,” he said while addressing a farmers’ meet in Amethi.
On agrarian woes, Rahul accused the Modi government of “fooling the farmers across the nation”. The Congress as the prime opposition, Rahul said, would continue to build pressure on the Centre for granting farmers the “right price for their produce”.
He also lambasted the Modi government for “the lack of jobs created in the past three years”.
“The youth is unemployed. A large section of them is turning frustrated day after day. Modi ji gives fancy names like ‘Make in India’, ‘Stand up India’, etc, but if jobs cannot be created, then he should accept his failure,” Rahul added.
