An open letter to all MP’s and MLA’s | By Pankaj Sinha

Respected MP & MLA of respective states of India

Lockdown, Lockdown, Lockdown –  It is, indeed very shocking and matter of great concern that when you need vote from public living in your constituency you visit them door to door. However when corona pandemic broke out and nationwide lockdown was declared you could not anticipate as to how many migrants, labour’s, in nutshell poor people living in your constituency will be hugely affected on account of lack of food grains, and other basic amenities. It is also a matter of great concern that you did not bother to take stock of their plight fully knowing well that you will be needing there support in future as well. As we are aware that even the migrants and poor people are also the citizens of this country and being there representative they are fully dependent and that is why they cast their vote in your favour. There is a saying that a friend in need is a friend indeed. I am in dilemma whether you being representative of their constituency are there friends or there enemies.

At this juncture I would also like to place on record that none of you have ever demanded for any structured system for such downtrodden persons who have migrated to different states from your constituency in search of work and from the part of an unorganised sector. Had there been any provision for there registration that labour’s and poor people who are working in different states have migrated from which constituency, such horrendous situation would not have arisen and probably you would have been in a position to help them.

As we are facing am extraordinary situation therefore you are also requested to empathise with the most marginalised section of your constituency and show exceptional courage and come forward in there respite so that we the citizens of India not only will be grateful to you but we will remember your deeds forever.
