An 18-year-old girl allegedly committed suicide by hanging herself inside her home in north Kashmir’s Sopore town on Sunday night.

Reports said a 18 year old girl name withheld of Kraltang Sopore allegedly hanged herself inside her home during the intervening night of Sunday and Monday. However,family members of the girl, after spotting her hanging inside the room, immediately rushed her to the Sub-District hospital Sopore where doctors declared her brought dead.

A police officer while confirming the incident said a case under 174 CrPc has been registered and further investigations in this regard have been taken up. The official added that after postmortem the body will be handed over to family for last rites. (GNS)
