New Delhi, March 28: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has taken a grip on Delhi Municipal Corporation elections, and is heavily involved in preparing for the polls to be held on April 23. AAP MLA Alka Lamba said that the Bharatiya Janata Party was trying its best to make these elections an Arvind Kejriwal versus Narendra Modi contest and if this happens, then it will only benefit the BJP.
The AAP is contesting the corporation election for the first time. The party has contested the Lok Sabha and assembly elections twice before this. The party has declared candidates for all 272 wards from Delhi, while the ruling BJP and Congress in Nagar Nigam have so far not declared the name of even a single candidate.
India.com Correspondents Mukesh Tiwari and Nirmala Devi interacted with Chandni Chowk MLA Alka Lamba on corporation elections. Alka Lamba has openly expressed her views on the electoral issues by keeping her word about the party’s preparations for the leadership of Arvind Kejriwal. There are three wards in the assembly constituency of Alka Lamba. These include Civil Lines Ward No. 83, Chandni Chowk Ward No. 84 and the last Jama Masjid Ward No 85.
Alka Lamba said that people do not know the division of work so far, people do not know which problem is related to the legislator, which to the Delhi government and councilor or municipal corporation. Our workers meet people and give them information about this.
