Captain Ruchi Sharma won ‘Presidents Gold Medal’ and was commissioned as an Army Officer in the Army Ordnance Corps (AOC). Volunteered and successfully earned the coveted Maroon Beretas part of the Parachute Brigad, qualifying as the “First Lady Operational Paratrooper” of the Indian Army. She had the opportunity and served in various difficult terrains and theatre’s including High Altitude Area at Leh (Ladakh). She was awarded “General Oberoi Trophy” for “Best Women Adventurer” in the year 1999, from the Corps of Ordnance.
She was honored with INDIAN WOMEN ACHIEVERS AWARD by the President of India on January 20, 2018 at New Delhi.
