Snowfall in Upper Parts of Himachal Pradesh, Shimla And Other Regions Witness Rainfall

Shimla, September 23: Many parts of Himachal Pradesh including Shimla received rainfall on Saturday. According to Met Director Manmohan Singh, rainfall will continue over the next 24 hours in many regions of the hilly state. Areas like Sirmaur, Shimla, Chamba, Kangra, Solan, Bilaspur, Kinnaur, Mandi are likely to witness heavy spells of rainfall.

Singh further informed that Himachal Pradesh witnessed snowfall in upper reaches like Lahaul, Spiti and Kullu. The state was lashed by rain even on Friday with overcast conditions prevailing in most of the areas. The current temperature of Shimla is 16 degrees Celsius and likely to remain the same overnight.

Shimla, yesterday, recorded a low of 15 degrees Celsius, while Solan and Dharamsala registered minimum temperatures of 16.2 degrees Celsius and 16.4 degrees Celsius respectively.
