New Delhi, Nov 8 (PTI) Four juveniles were apprehended for allegedly robbing of a man’s mobile phone and cash after killing him, the police said today.
Sarpansu, who was in his 20s, was stabbed to death by unidentified people on October 19 in outer Delhi’s Nangloi, they said.
It was found that the victim had come to Delhi a few days before the incident in search of a job, they said.
During an investigation, it was found that one of the accused, involved in the killing, resides at Sultanpuri jhuggi, they said.
A raid was conducted and one of the juveniles was apprehended yesterday, M N Tiwari, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Outer), said.
The other juveniles were subsequently apprehended. The robbed cell phone of the deceased and the knife used in the killing was seized from their possession, he said.
On the day of the incident, the juveniles were present near the Nangloi railway line and when they saw Sarpansu carrying an Android cell phone, they decided to rob him, he said.
One of them went to Sarpansu and asked for a cigarette from him. When the victim refused, all the juveniles picked up a quarrel with him, the official said.
Later, one of them stabbed the victim and others robbed Sarpansu’s cell phone and Rs 400 from his pocket, he said.
