New Delhi, Sept 11: The Supreme Court on Monday issued notice to Centre, HRD Ministry and Haryana Government over the murder of a 7-year-old boy at Ryan International School on Sohna Road. The court has asked all parties to submit a report on the incident within three weeks. The victim’s father had moved the apex court seeking a probe by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) into the case. He also sought that some tribunal or authority hears such types of cases.
A bench headed by Chief Justice Dipak Misra has also sought a response from the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) on the plea, which has sought framing of guidelines to fix responsibility of school managements in case of such incidents and also regarding the safety and security of children.
Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar also spoke to the family of the victim and assured them of a CBI probe into the horrific murder. “We have full faith in Supreme Court and have also received a positive response from Haryana Government,” said the father of the 7-year-old who was murdered in the washroom of his school.
Meanwhile, Ryan International School CEO Ryan Pinto has filed an anticipatory bail application in Bombay High Court. The hearing is likely to take place tomorrow. This came after reports that a police team was reaching Mumbai to question Ryan Pinto. Two persons, both part of the school staff, have also been arrested in the case.
Seven-year-old Pradyuman was found murdered in his school toilet. A bus conductor allegedly killed the boy in a bid to sexually assault the victim. He has been arrested.
On the other hand, acting principal of Gurugram’s Ryan International School complained of health issues during questioning by Police. The principal has been taken to the hospital, reported ANI.
There were protests on Monday at not just the Sohna Road branch but other branches of Ryan International School, too, including Greater Noida. The school remained shut on Monday.
