Delhi Ministers’ dharna outside the Lt Governor’s residence is a gimmick : Ch Anil Kumar

NEW DELHI, May 19, 2023—Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee president Ch. Anil Kumar said that it was shocking that the Ministers of the  Aam Aadmi Party Government in Delhi have sat on a dharna outside the residence of the Lt. Governor today on the plea that the LG has not cleared the file of the Delhi Government to remove the Secretary (Services), “which has been pending with the LG for the past two days”, though the Kejriwal Government has not done anything to improve the infrastructure of Delhi and service to the people and their welfare for the past nine years, despite Kejriwal’s claim that Delhi’s “two crore people” have elected him to power!

Ch. Anil Kumar said that though the Supreme Court had  ruled that the the power to effect transfers and postings is vested with the elected Government, the Kejriwal Government, without wasting any time, transferred the existing Secretary (Services) without following due process of rule, and the file to appoint a new secretary was sent to the LG, and resorted to a sit-in protest outside the LG residence  for the illogical reason that  he has not cleared the file for the “past two days”.

Ch. Anil Kumar said that Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has been resorting to such gimmicks ever since he assumed power nine years ago as has proved to be a total flop in carrying out development works, welfare measures and good governance, and whenever faced with challenging governance matters, he would indulge in a public display of protest to divert attention from pressing matters, though his Government has not spared any chance to make money through scams and illegal deals, like the liquor scam. He said that though the AAP has taken charge of a “double engine” Government in Delhi after winning the MCD elections, no constructive work  has been done neither by the MCD, which AAP took charge five months ago, nor the Delhi Government, where Kejriwal has been in power for the past nine years. He said that Kejriwal has only done empty promises and his Rozgar Budget, which promised 20 lakh jobs in five years, has only remained on paper like his many other promises while the common people live a miserable life, due to price rise, unemployment, worsening public transport, declining standard of education in Delhi Government schools, water and air pollution, broken roads and uncleared garbage.
