Four cops assaulted by drunk men in Northwest Delhi

The accused Shamsher allegedly abused the policemen and asked them to go away.

New Delhi: Four policemen attached to the Bharat Nagar police station in Northwest Delhi were allegedly attacked, assaulted and brutally beaten while an on-duty ASI’s hand was bitten off by one of the drunkards after the police asked the accused not to drink in public place. The situation turned grim when the three men gheraoed the policemen and allegedly threatened to kill them. However, the cops were saved after one of them managed to raise alarm and called for additional force. The incident took place on Wednesday night around 9 pm in Wazirpur slum in front of Jhankari School.
