New Delhi, Jan 31 (PTI) Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal today met Anil Baijal over the ongoing sealing drive and said the Lt Governor has assured immediate solution to the issue.
After the meeting, Kejriwal said there was “urgent need” to stop sealing drive being carried out by municipal corporations against properties for alleged violation of civic norms.
Later, the Lt Governor, in a tweet, said that “all possibilities are being explored keeping in view judicial pronouncement & laws. Some solution would be evolved soon”.
Kejriwal said the L-G had assured him that the Central government and he would find out a solution to the sealing drive in order to give a relief to traders.
“During my meeting with L-G, I told him that traders have been facing a lot of problems due to sealing. We need to work together to give a relief to traders,” the chief minister told reporters here.
After the meeting, the Kejriwal tweeted, “I will urge u to kindly do it soon sir. Traders are really in distress. And we all have to work together for the development of Delhi. I assure u of full support (sic).”
The BJP-ruled civic bodies have undertaken sealing drive initiated by the Supreme Court-appointed monitoring committee.
