First list of BJP MCD 2017 candidates released: Check ward wise full list of BJP candidates contesting from NDMC

New Delhi, April 2: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has today released the first list for MCD Elections 2017. In its first list, the BJP has cleared names of 160 candidates for the Delhi Municipal Corporations and some heavyweights are contesting the elections from North Delhi Municipal Corporation (NDMC) where the BJP today declared names of 67 candidates. The elections in Delhi, which is a three-way fight between the – BJP, Aam Aadmi Party and Congress – all trio parties are ready for a full-scale political battle. For MCD polls the BJP has given five wards to its ally Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) and onde seat to Lok Janshakti Party (LJP).

MCD Elections 2017: Arvind Kejriwal vows to provide free water and subsidised electricity to Delhi tenants if AAP comes to power

New Delhi, April 3: Delhi Chief Minister and Aam Aadmi Party convener Arvind Kejriwal on Sunday announced that free water and subsidised electricity would be provided to the Delhi tenants only if AAP comes to power in the upcoming MCD Elections 2017. Announcing it on social media giant Twitter, Kejriwal wrote, "Those staying in rented houses don’t get benefit of low water and electricity tariff. After municipal elections, we will make sure even they receive the benefit." The MCD elections will be held on April 23 and the verdict will be out on April 26.

Delhi MCD polls: Will give power subsidy to tenants, says CM Arvind Kejriwal

DAYS AHEAD of the polls to the municipal corporations of Delhi, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal Sunday said that if voted to power, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) would extend power subsidies to tenants as well. The AAP had earlier promised to abolish residential house tax. "The tenants living in Delhi do not get the benefit of low tariffs on power and water. After the MCD polls, we will also work to extend the relief to these tenants," Kejriwal tweeted.

AAP alleges attack on Sanjay Singh

A woman volunteer allegedly slapped senior AAP leader Sanjay Singh at the party’s campaign for the Rajouri Garden bypolls on Sunday afternoon. On Sunday, Punjab Assembly Leader of Opposition H S Phoolka, along with Singh, led a campaign for party candidate Harjeet Singh in the Sikh-dominated constituency. During the event, a woman volunteer from Rajouri Garden, Simran Bedi, approached Singh with a garland in her hand but allegedly tried to slap him. Other volunteers shielded Singh.
