67-yr old man arrested for raping nine year old

New Delhi, Feb 28  A 67-year-old madrassa teacher has been arrested for allegedly raping a minor girl in Narela area of the city, police said today.

The nine-year-old girl was admitted to BR Ambedkar hospital in Rohini where her condition was stable, said a senior police officer.

The rape allegedly took place last Sunday. The accused had allegedly threatened the girl not to tell anyone about the incident. However, the matter came to light when her parents took her to hospital after she was taken ill.

A complaint was lodged at Narela police station.

A case was registered under the Protection of Children From Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, he said.

The accused identified as Zakir Hussain was arrested yesterday. He taught at a madrassa in a slum of Narela, said the officer.

Recently, the former Bigg Boss contestant shared the picture of Sridevi’s dead body, which angered fans and instigated them to leave loathsome comments for Sawant. She captioned the pic, “Although it’s not known whether the pic is real or photoshopped (sic), and within moments of her posting it, hell broke loose as fans began trolling her for her indecent and insensitive post. Facing the wrath of her followers, Sawant thus pulled down the post, minutes after posting it.

PM reviews grievance handing in Delhi Police

New Delhi, Feb 28 Prime Minister Narendra Modi today reviewed the progress made in handling and resolution of grievances related to Delhi Police.

He also reviewed the progress of the Kedarnath reconstruction work in Uttarakhand. The state government presented the progress of works through drone imagery.

Chairing the 24th interaction through ‘Pragati’, an ICT-based platform for communicating with the bureaucracy, Modi stressed on the importance of improving the quality of disposal of grievances.

According to an official statement, he also reviewed the progress of 10 infrastructure projects in the railway, road, power, petroleum and coal sectors, spread over several states like Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, West Bengal, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu and Kerala.

These projects are cumulatively worth over Rs 40,000 crore.

The statement said the progress in implementation of the Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana and the Pradhan Mantri Matri Vandana Yojana also came up for review.

The first 23 meetings of ‘Pragati’ have seen a cumulative review of 208 projects with a total investment of Rs 9.46 lakh crore. Resolution of public grievances has also been reviewed in 17 sectors, the statement said.
