New Delhi, Nov 8: The questioning of a Class XI student of Ryan International School in Gurugram by the Central Bureau of Investigation in connection with the murder of Class II student Pradyuman has brought a huge new twist in the case. The CBI has held the Class XI student after the questioning and is set to present him before the Juvenile Justice Board on Wednesday.
Reports say that the Class XI boy used to carry a knife to the school which led to CBI suspecting his involvement in the case. According to Zee News, the CBI has said that the Class XI boy killed Pradyuman so that the school postpones examination as well as the Parents Teachers Meeting to take place on that day.
“CBI has apprehended a child in conflict with law, a student of senior class at Ryan International School (Sohna Road, Gurugram) in an ongoing case relating to murder of a 7-year-old boy. Initial investigation revealed the child in conflict of law wanted to have the examination and parent teacher meeting in school postponed,” the CBI said on Wednesday.
However, the father of the boy has alleged foul play. He has claimed that the CBI is framing him and his son. “They (CBI) arrested my son last night. My son has not committed the crime, he informed gardener and teachers,” said the father of the Class XI student who has been held. He also said that he was made to sit at the CBI office till 2 am last night. “There were no blood stains on my son’s clothes when he went to inform the teachers and gardener about Pradyuman, how can they say that he killed the little boy,” the father questioned. He also said that he was forced by the CBI to sign on the confession letter saying his son killed Pradyuman.
Meanwhile, the family of the bus conductor, who was arrested on charges of allegedly murdering Pradyuman, said they were relieved but not happy. They said that they will be happy when the truth comes out and culprits are nabbed. The CBI has not yet given a clean chit to the conductor in the case.
The CBI held the Class XI student after questioning him multiple times. According to initial reports, the suspect was detained, but later it was stated that the student was held by the CBI.
Pradyuman, a class II student of Ryan International School on Sohna Road in Gurugram, was found dead with his throat slit in the school bathroom on September 8. This led to widespread protests across the country, with questions raised about the security of students in schools.
This was followed by the arrest of the Ryan school owners, who were later granted an interim bail by the Punjab and Haryana High Court. Pradyuman’s father later approached the Supreme Court seeking cancellation of interim bail.
