New Delhi, Nov 8: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has reportedly offered a Rajya Sabha seat from Delhi to former Reserve Bank of India (RBI) governor Raghuram Rajan. If media reports are to be believed, Raghuram Rajan is considering the offer of Rajay Sabha seat made by AAP. The AAP is entitled to all three Rajya Sabha seats from Delhi after it’s landslide victory in Delhi Assembly elections in 2015.
The term of the three Rajya Sabha seat in Delhi will begin in January. Delhi Chief Minister and AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal wants to pick professionals and “outsiders” rather than leaders from the party for three Upper House seats. Earlier, AAP leader Kumar Vishwas demanded a Rajya Sabha seat from Delhi to ‘be an articulate voice against the BJP and the Congress’.
