NEW DELHI, January 12, 2024—Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee president Shri Arvinder Singh Lovely addressed a meeting of Congress workers at Raghubarpura in Gandhi Nagar (East Delhi) today, and exhorted them to strengthen the booth committees in view of the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, as strong both committees will be decisive in helping the Congress candidates win the elections.
Shri Lovely told the Congress workers that the time had come for them to go among the people and expose the failures of the seven BJP MPs from Delhi in the past 10 years, as they did nothing for the people of Delhi. He said that the people of Delhi were given false hopes by the seven BJP MPs for the past 10 years without fulfilling even one of their promises, which was a betrayal on the people of Delhi who voted them to Lok Sabha. He said that while Delhiites were rattled by unemployment, price rise, pollution, rising crime rates and other issues, the seven MPs from Delhi did not speak up for the people of Delhi inside or outside Parliament.
Shri Lovely was felicitated by the Congress workers of Gandhi Nagar to mark the New Year, and he asked them to be on their toes to activate the Congress workers and the general public through close interaction as the coming Parliamentary elections will be decisive, as divisive forces were trying to divide people by erecting communal and caste barriers.
Shri Lovely said that Congress workers should be on the field to be among the people to solve their problems as no elected representative will be able to serve the people without the active participation and support of the Congress workers at the grass-root level, who are backbones of the party, and help Congress win elections.
Shri Lovely said that Shri Rahul Gandhi’s tireless efforts to rejuvenate the party across the country with another Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra, and inform the people about the dangerous of some people usurping all the powers in their hands to serve the interest of some of their select friends, will be dangerous for democracy and the country, as they were exploiting the common people to serve their vestered interest, which the Congress workers, with their active participation in political works at the ground level, should thwart.
Prominent leaders present at the felicitation meeting were Corporation Councilor Mr. Sameer Mansoori, former MC Varyam Kaur, Surendra Kumar, Jai Karan Chaudhary, Block President Sanjay Sharma, Ishrat Khan Mamu, Latif, Shriram Tyagi, Sonu Wadhwa, Goldie, Rahul Saini, Babbu and a large number of Congress workers and regional leaders.
