Patna, July 28: Nitish Kumar, who took oath as the Bihar Chief Minister on Thursday after resigning from the post and breaking free from Mahagathbandhan on Wednesday, is all set to face a floor test in the Assembly at 11 am on Friday to prove majority in house. Noteworthy, to obtain majority in the 243-member Bihar Assembly, the JD(U)-BJP alliance needs the support of 122 legislators.
Meanwhile, Nitish Kumar is expected to pass the floor test with support of 132 MLAs – 71 from JD(U) and 58 from BJP and allies. In case of their rebellion from the Dalit and Muslim MLAs in JD(U) – who are 17 in total – the JD(U)-BJP alliance would fail to cross the majority mark of 122, reports say.
