Jun. 28, 2017: CAT or Common Aptitude Test 2017 would be conducted by IIM Lucknow this year. As per the official notification shared, the entrance and eligibility test for top MBA institutes in the country would be conducted by Indian Institute of Management Lucknow in the months of November or December 2017. In 2016, CAT was conducted by IIM Bangalore. IIM Lucknow would be conducting the CAT after a gap of seven years. The institute is likely to release full schedule of CAT 2017 by end of July and the registrations would begin shortly afterwards.
CAT is conducted by IIMs – top Management institutes of the country, on a rotational basis. The exam, written by nearly 2.50 lakh students every year is the qualifier for admissions to 19 IIMs along with 150 other MBA institutes in the country. Every year, the exam is convened and conducted under the supervision of one of the top regional IIMs. Last year the examination was conducted on December 4 by IIM Bangalore. In the year prior to that, CAT was conducted by IIM Ahmedabad. Prof Neeraj Dwivedi of IIM Lucknow has been appointed as the CAT 2017 convener. The notification would be released towards the end of July.
