New Delhi, Dec 14: An Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer, Jitendra Kumar Jha went missing on Monday soon after he left for a morning walk. However, even after 72 hours of the incident, the police are clueless about his location or condition. Jha’s family alleged it as a case of kidnapping, however, the police have not yet concluded on any angle and are conducting the probe.
Jha, originally a resident of Bihar’s Supaul district was posted with the Union ministry of Human Resource Development (HRD) in New Delhi. His family members claimed he was regarded as a no-nonsense officer in the department, and it could be a reason for his kidnapping, the Telegraph reported.
Bihar director general of police (DGP) PK Thakur assured the family of Jha that Bihar police will fully cooperate with Delhi police in finding the whereabouts of the IAS officer. Jha’s wife, Bhawna had also reportedly spoke to the Bihar DGP seeking intervention into the matter.
She alleged that Jha was also not happy about the frequent transfers, which made it uncomfortable for him and his family. Jha was reportedly posted in the Union ministry of Information and Technology and every six months he had been transferred from one department to another.
The Delhi police had earlier said they have received CCTV footage which might be helpful, but later it was found to be of no use. It only reportedly shows Jha coming out of the building of the society around 9 pm.
