New Delhi: India’s stand-in captain Rohit Sharma became the first batsman to score three double hundreds in One-Day Internationals (ODIs) as he smashed unbeaten 208 against Sri Lanka in the second ODI in Mohali. With this, he bettered own record of being the only batsman with two double tons in ODIs against his name. It took Rohit just 36 balls to reach the 200-run mark after scoring his century. This was his 16th ODI century.
Rohit, who holds the highest individual score of 264 runs, got to his double ton in last over. His first double hundred came against Australia in 2013 in Bengaluru and then in 2014, the talented right-hander scored 264 against Sri Lanka in Kolkata.
