New Delhi, Nov 12: In what can be called as a good news for all Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) students, the board has issued an order allowing them to rectify their names, parents name and their date of birth within five years from the date declaration of their examination results.
In a notification issued on Friday, the board said,“Limitation of cases of correction in candidate, mother and father name/correction in date of birth has been revised. Revised time limit will be 5 years from date of declaration of result and it will be applicable to all cases after class X/XII 2015 examination onwards.”
“Revised limitation period shall also be applicable to current ongoing cases already received in regional offices (ROs) and headquarters (HQs) , pending in various courts as well as received now onwards,” the notification further stated.
The move will reportedly help more than 18, 000 schools affiliated to the board.
As per the CBSE, this was a correction order issued to the one on June 25, 2015 wherein it mentioned that correction in date of birth, candidate, mother and father name shall be entertained by the Board only for one year from the date of declaration of result.
