Due to less than satisfactory enrollments for Prime, Reliance Jio could extend the deadline for subscriptions beyond March 31.
Reliance Jio’s Happy New Year Offer is set to end later this week on March 31. But subscribers can reap the benefits of freebies by enrolling for the Jio Prime membership. While the last date for applying to the Jio Prime membership is March 31, turns out Reliance Jio is looking at extending the deadline by a whole month.
Citing sources at the company, TechAnalysis reports that Reliance Jio is not happy with the number of subscribers who have applied for the Prime membership. From a user base of over 100 million subscribers, only about 22-27 million have reportedly enrolled for the Prime membership. Nearly 50 percent lower than the target, Jio is clearly not happy with these numbers, and is said to be planning on extending the deadline by a month to give more users a chance to enroll for Prime. BGR India has reached out to Reliance Jio for a comment on this, and we will update the story once we hear from the company.
Though Reliance Jio hasn’t revealed any official numbers, the network operator clearly doesn’t seem to be pleased with the numbers. A quick look at social media shows how existing subscribers are being bombarded with messages from Jio to apply for Prime. In some cases, users who have already enrolled for Prime continue to be spammed with these messages.
