SC asks Centre to release funds for fencing of India-Bangladesh border

New Delhi: March 9: Supreme Court tells Centre to complete fencing of the Indo-Bangladesh border soon on Wednesday. Apex Court directed the Centre to release funds for fencing the India-Bangladesh border to check cross-border influx of illegal Bangladesh nationals into Assam.The court perused the Centre’s status report on the progress made in the works relating to securing and fencing the border and said, the task has to be completed soon. Additional Solicitor General PS Patwalia, appearing for the Centre, said the Expenditure and Finance Committee will meet tomorrow to decide on the issue of releasing funds.
