New Delhi, Nov 15: The Pradyuman Thakur murder case has been witnessing sensational twists and turns regularly and adding to the list is a latest claim by the father of Class 2 student who was murdered inside Gurugram’s Ryan International School.
Varun Thakur has revealed that a Haryana minister had asked him not to push for a probe by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) into the murder of his 7-year-old son Pradyuman who was found in a pool of blood with his throat slit inside the school washroom on September 8.
Varun Thakur said Haryana Minister Rao Narbir Singh tried to dissuade him from seeking a CBI probe into the murder case. Pradyuman’s father said the minister told him that the CBI would take years to solve the case and that the Haryana Police was the best authority to investigate the matter.
Rao has denied dissuading Pradyuman’s family from asking for a probe by CBI. Rao said he had suggested that Gurugram Police should be allowed to complete its investigation and depending on the result the government will take a call on referring the matter to the central agency.
“I had just said that no government can recommend CBI inquiry on same day of incident. I told victim family let the police probe for a week or so if you are not satisfied then will recommend (the case to) CBI,” Rao Narbir Singh said.
