Noida, Nov 13: A pregnant woman was crushed to death by a speeding car in Noida on Sunday night. The incident happened at Noida Sector-18 when a parking attendant was pulling out a parked car. Reports say that the attendant, being said to be a minor, suddenly increased the speed of the car and crushed the woman who was passing by. The woman’s husband was also hit by the car.
The woman was rushed to the hospital and was declared dead. Her husband has been admitted to the hospital and is being said to be serious. The victim, identified as Mansi Singhal, was eight months pregnant. She and her husband were carrying a cake when the incident happened. The parking attended reported reversed the car in speed, ran over Mansi as well as her husband, hit two other cars and eventually hit a pole in the area.
The parking attendant has been arrested and the car has been seized. The relatives of the deceased have demanded strict action against the culprit.
One of the relatives of Mansi said that they were out shopping in Atta Market when the parking attendant, who he says was 14 years of age, reversed a car in full speed and hit Mansi twice. He said that it was the parking contractors fault who gave the car parking responsibility to minors there. “Even walking there is not safe now when you have minors parking cars,” he said.
