Lucknow, Oct 30: A 100-year-old woman died on Monday after allegedly being raped by a youth in an Uttar Pradesh village. The incident happened early on Monday morning in Jaani village in Meerut district.
Police said that the victim, who was unwell, lived in Jaani village with her brother. The police added that the youth was drunk when he allegedly raped the 100-year-old woman.
According to IANS, the youth has been identified as Ankit Punia. Reports say he was trying to escape but failed as the woman’s cries were heard by her brother and neighbours. Punia was handed over to the police.
However, Punia claimed that he was innocent and had not committed any crime.
