For Start Up India You Needn’t Shut Up India, Says #RahulGandhi

New Delhi, Oct 26: Continuing his tirade against the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led ND  government and Prime Minister Narendra ModiCongress Vice-President Rahul Gandhitoday said that the present regime is not ready to listen and resolve issues of aam aadmi.  The Congress leader said that hopes of people of the country have been shattered after three years of Modi rule and described the rising unemployment in the country as “MMD – Modi Made Disaster.”

Speaking at PHD chambers, Rahul Gandhi said that trust in the present government is non-existent.

“Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his government is convinced that every single person is a thief. One develops trust by listening to each other. Today there is no one in government ready to listen to the pain of our people,” he said.

“Startup India is welcome for the economy, but it cannot be accompanied by ‘Shut Up India’ in society. What gives Startup India its strength is freedom of expression, thought and dissent. You choke this and you choke entrepreneurship,” he added.

 On Taj Controversy

Commenting on the ongoing controversy surrounding Taj Mahal, Rahul Gandhi, who is said to be elevated to Congress President’s post soon, said the issue has made India a laughing stock.

“Globally India used to be asked if it still believes in non-violence. Today they laugh as we busily debate Taj’s origin,” he said referring to recent statements by BJP leaders questioning the iconic structure’s  status in Indian history.

On Demonetisation, GST

Targeting the Modi government over country’s economy,  Rahul Gandhi said that steps like demonetisation and Goods and Services Tax (GST) crippled India’s economy and destroyed thousands of small businesses.
