Hyderabad, Oct 25: Renowned cross-country rider Sana Iqbal died in a car crash on Tuesday. Her husband Abdul Nadeem, who was driving the car, was also injured in the accident and is being treated in a hospital. Meanwhile, her mother alleged on Wednesday that this was a cold-blooded murder.
“It is a cold-blooded murder made to look like an accident. Her estranged husband and his mother, who used to harass her, are behind it,” she told ANI.
According to media reports, Sana and Abdul Nadeem were heading home in Tolichowki area when it collided with a divider on the Outer Ring Road at 3:30 am.
“Sana’s husband Abdul Nadeem was driving the car. Sana, who suffered severe injuries in the mishap, was shifted to a nearby hospital but was declared brought dead. Her husband, who received injuries, is undergoing treatment,” PTI quoted a police officer.
Sana Iqbal had come to the limelight when she took a solo motorcycle expedition across the country to raise awareness about suicide and depression.
