Congress to fulfill all its promises as soon as the India Alliance Government comes to power at the Centre—Anil Bhardwaj

NEW DELHI, May 14, 2024—Chairman of the Communications Department and Star Campaigner Shri Anil Bhardwaj, ex-MLA said that though India was a ‘young’ country, the youth were going astray and feeling disillusioned due to unemployment and shattered dreams, as the BJP Government has not fulfilled its promise of generating 2 crore jobs per year in the past 10 years,  and also did not fill the vacant posts in various Central Government departments. He said that the present Lok Sabha elections thus assume great significance for the future of the youth and the future of the country, as Congress has promised to provide justice to youth, and therefore people should elect the Congress and India Alliance candidates for their brighter future. He said that the BJP has been forced to change six of their seven  MPs in Delhi due to their non-performance, and the suffering of the youth was on account of the inaction and incompetence of the BJP Government, as a few industrialist friends of the BJP Government were controlling the  economy and jobs of the country.

Addressing a press conference at the DPCC office, Rajiv Bhawan here today, along with Shri Anuj Attrey,  Shri Anil Bhardwaj said that  Congress president Shri Mallikarjun Kharge and Shri Rahul Gandhi have promised  in the Congress Sankalp Patra to provide Rs 1 lakh apprentship    to the unemployed youth to get them skill training  as 5 out of 10 youth in the country are jobless, and according to the International Labour Organisation, 83% youth in India are unemployed, with only 17.5%  youth  in the rural areas engaged in some regular  jobs. He said that the Congress manifesto has also promised to fill 30 lakh job vacancies in the Central Government departments, and it will also create a Rs 5000 crore start-up fund for the youth. He said that Delhi  has the highest unemployment rate in the country with 44 per cent youth in the 20-24 age-group without any job, and this bleak unemployment scenario was the worst in the past 45 years. He said that 15783 youth have taken their lives due to unemployment in 2022 alone, and 5588 students committed suicide  because they were staring at a dark and uncertain future, but the Modi Government does not talk about unemployment, only indulges in gimmick to divert  key issues from people’s attention in the the Lok Sabha election narrative. He said that people of the country have not forgotten the hollow and unfulfilled promises of the Modi Government, and they now look upto the Congress and India Alliance to save them from their present plight and struggles.

Shri Anil Bhardwaj said that small traders, businessmen and medium industries have been forced to shut  shops due to the wrong implementation of GST, and the BJP Government does not have any roadmap to provide jobs to the youth. He said that Congress has also promised to end the Agniveer recruitment scheme in the Armed forces, and would revert back to regular recruitments to provide regular jobs to the youth.

Shri Anil Bhardwaj said that 13,525 posts are vacant in Delhi Police, and over 40,000 posts are lying vacant in various departments of the Delhi Government, and if these posts are filled, many unemployed youth could get permanent jobs. He appealed to the Lt. Governor to fill these posts immediately to provide some solace to the unemployed youth. He said that this Lok Sabha election will herald change in Delhi, as people were stressed out in their struggle for earning their livelihoods, and would elect Congress and India Alliance to power to end their misery.
