India Alliance is committed to defeat BJP on all seven seats in Delhi in Lok Sabha elections. —Arvinder Singh Lovely

NEW DELHI, February 24, 2024—Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee president Shri Arvinder Singh Lovely, welcoming the tie-up between the Congress party and the Aam Aadmi Party as part of the India Alliance to contest all the seven Lok Sabha seats in Delhi, said that the India Alliance will sweep all the seven seats in the Capital as the BJP MPs had totally neglected the city for the past 10 years. Shri Arvinder Singh Lovely said that AICC General Secretary Shri Mukul Wasnik, who is the convenor of the India Alliance in Delhi, announced today that while Congress will contest the North East Delhi, Chandni Chowk and North West Delhi Lok Sabha seats, Aam Aadmi Party will contest the other four seats at East Delhi, South Delhi, New Delhi and West Delhi. He said that the decision to contest all the seven Lok Sabha seats in Delhi was amicably arrived at by the Congress and AAP, as the India Alliance was determined to defeat the BJP in all the seven seats.

Shri Lovely said that though Congress will contest only three Lok Sabha seats,  at Chandni Chowk, North East Delhi and North West Delhi, both Congress and AAP will put full efforts in winning all the seven seats as the BJP MPs had done nothing for Delhi in the past ten years, totally neglecting the Capital.

Shri Lovely said that the fact that the BJP was  all set to replace the sitting Delhi MPs was proof enough that the BJP MPs  had done nothing for the Capital, and the people would throw them out if such incompetent MPs were repeated in the Capital. He said that both the Congress and AAP workers will put all their efforts to ensure that all the seven Lok Sabha seats were captured by the Alliance, to maintain the tradition of one alliance capturing all the seven Lok Sabha seats in Delhi.

AICC General Secretary and In-charge of Delhi Shri Deepak Babaria said that the smooth manner in which the seat sharing tie-up was arrived at between Congress and AAP in Delhi has made the BJP jittery as it was a clear indication that the India Alliance was on a strong turf, and in other States too, Congress will stitch tie-ups with other India Alliance partners without any hiccup as the aim of the Alliance was to throw out the communal and autocratic BJP from power at the Centre. He said that  with all the democratic forces joining hands, Congress was putting its best foot forward to cement the India Alliance with smooth seat-sharing arrangements.
