Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee president Shri Arvinder Singh Lovely holds a meeting with the District presidents, and exhorts them to be thoroughly prepared to face the upcoming Lok Sabha elections
NEW DELHI, January 17, 2024—Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee president Shri Arvinder Singh Lovely today convened a meeting of all the District presidents at his residence in connection with the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. Shri Lovely exhorted the District presidents to be thoroughly prepared to face the Lok Sabha elections by activating the ground-level workers to go door-to-door to interact with the people, and expose the BJP about its unfulfilled promises and total inactivity by the seven BJP MPs in the past ten years. He said that Congress should highlight promise versus performance, as no work was done as the people suffered in silence, particularly the poor and the middle class.
The District presidents who attended the meeting were Ex MLA Surender Kumar, Zubair Ahmad, Madan Khorwal, Gurcharan Singh Raju, Advocate Dinesh Kumar, Rajesh Chauhan, Sabir Sharma, Dharampal Chandela, Manoj Yadav, Mirza Javed Ali, Adesh Bhardwaj, Former Leader in MCD Jitender Kumar Kochar, Amit Malik, Ex MC Jai Kishan Sharma, Sunil Vohra, Jai Karan Chaudhary, Laxman Rawat, Rajiv Sharma and Harnam Singh.
Shri Arvinder Singh Lovely said that the time had come for the Congress workers to come out on the streets in full forces to work unitedly and expose the BJP and others who made false promises to the people to get their votes, but forgot about all about the promises after winning the Lok Sabha, Delhi and MCD elections. He said that the Congress workers should remind the people of Delhi about the good works done by the Congress Governments, as Delhi had witnessed unprecedented levels of development when Congress was in power in Delhi. He said Congress Governments had always delivered on their promises, whether the party was in power at the Centre or in Delhi, unlike the BJP, which only made loud promises without fulfilling any of them, which the Congress workers should thoroughly expose before the people.
Shri Lovely said that the Congress workers should tell the people of Delhi that they were betrayed and letdown by the BJP government and all the seven BJP MPs from Delhi in their hour of crises in the past 10 years, when the Covid-19 pandemic unleashed a death dance across the Capital when thousands of people died due to lack of medical Oxygen, hospital beds, medicines, ambulances etc. as the BJP MPs and their leaders remained shut inside their homes while the Congress workers went out on the streets to help people in distress, risking their own lives. He said that whether it was the destructive air pollution, floods, price rise and unemployment, the BJP MPs did nothing to solve the problems of Delhiites, despite the BJP ruling at the Centre and at the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) till a year back.
