This Navratri season is set to be another festive affair in India as people prepare to pick up their Dandiyan sticks to dance to the classic tunes of the festival. Amidst this, the condom company Manforce, of which Sunny Leone is a brand ambassador, put up hoardings across the city of Surat which read ‘Aa Navratri a ramo, parantu premthi’ which literally translates to ‘This Navratri, play but with love.’
This wasn’t taken lightly by a Surat-based group which has drawn protests against these ads, claiming it hurts Hindu sentiments. “The message in Gujarati on the hoarding reads ‘Aa Navratri a ramo, parantu premthi’ – this Navratri, play but with love. The insinuation on the hoardings from a condom brand insults the religious sentiments of Hindus,” said Narendra Chaudhary, a businessman who serves as the group’s leader told TOI. He added saying, “This cannot be tolerated and our protests will get stronger if these hoardings are not removed immediately. Protests are necessary to deter others from trying something similar again in future.”
Meanwhile, Sunny will be next seen in a film called ‘Tera Intezaar’ opposite Arbaaz Khan. Her role in the film is touted to be very different one than the rest of her films. Maker Raajeev Walia earlier told IANS, “The film will show Sunny Leone from a very different perspective and angle. You will see Sunny like you have never seen before. She has delivered her best performance and has put her heart and soul in the character.”
