Hyderabad, Sept 9: Government has decided to alter the Goods and Service Tax (GST) rate for at least 30 items, based upon the apprehensions made by the state governments. The decision was taken at the 21st GST Council meeting here, chaired by Finance Minister Arun Jaitley.
The GST Council also decided to extend the last date for filing GSTR-1 to October 10. Earlier, the final date was tomorrow – September 10. “Since this is a new system and people are facing some technical difficulties, we have decided to extend the deadline,” said Revenue Secretary Hasmukh Adhia.
In view of the difficulties being faced by taxpayers in filing returns, the following revised schedule has been approved:
